When Emily and Josh contacted us from their home in Hong Kong, the first thing they told us was to watch the film “In the Mood For Love”. It made a lot of sense: Emily is a film maker and Josh a film buff. Native New Yorkers, family businesses brought them both to Hong Kong for work, but they wanted to marry in their home town. In addition to celebrating their love of film, we aimed to meld their love of New York and diverse heritage into a night to remember. A New York loft with city views, a cherry blossom chuppah for the Jewish ceremony followed by stations reflecting each element of their heritage from Italian to Chinese to good ‘ol Lower East Side deli. And for parting favors each guest got a DVD of the movie that started it all.
